Art Basel Miami Beach - December 2-5, 2010

I'll be heading down to Miami later this week to check out Art Basel. The sister event to Switzerland's Art Basel, it has become the premier art show in the US. Exclusive selections from some of the best galleries in the world will be on display at the Miami convention center. After wondering around the mammoth building (I'm remembering my Teen Vogue days of covering the swim market and spending hours lost in that never ending center) I'll be ready for a drink. Luckily the art world loves a good party and I'll be there to capture some of the best (and worst) looks from show. Check back next week for the post or meet me in Miami! A few years ago over the Easter holiday I rented a house in Claryville, NY through Red Cottage Inc. It was such a fun weekend filled with bike rides, trips to the local farm stand and campfires. But my favorite part was a tour of the local barn quilts which has had a lasting impression and was the catalyst for my quilt obsession. Combine this with my longtime love of Adirondack style and I'm in heaven. Those of you who have been to Hot Fuzz headquarters know that my Pendleton pillows purchased while on a ski trip upstate are among my most prized possessions and I guess I'm onto something. Ralph Lauren 4-D: Tomorrow night!!!

Starting at 8pm  tomorrow night (November 10) in front of their Madison Ave store Ralph Lauren is taking marketing to a whole new level. They're calling it "A historic fusion of art, fashion & technology" and promise it will be spectacular. Ketzali's new collection!!! I don't have pics of my all time favorite scarves yet but I was lucky enough to see the samples before they went into production. I placed my order immediately and I'm counting down the days until my cozy wool scarf arrives. Not only are Ketzali scarves eco-friendly they also donate 50% of the online profits to projects monitored by The Resource Foundation.
