Derek Lam Spring 2011 Trunk Show

Walking up to the über-cool 12 Crosby St. store designed by famed Tokyo based architectural firm SANAA, is a bit intimidating and if it were not for the invitation to see the new Spring collection up close I may not have been able to muster up the courage to go inside. A deep breath and then through the doors led to a wonderland of juxtaposition: retro-modern, relaxed-sophistication, comfortable-glamour. This is what Derek Lam is all about, fabulous high-end yet wearable clothing. The San Francisco native pulled inspiration from his home state and the result is one of the strongest and critically praised collections of his career. The cut and detail in every piece speaks to the designer's knowledge and love of the female form. See the runway show on Style.com, Derek Lam Spring 2011 show and visit the Derek Lam website to shop online.
